Exercise 11: Intro to MMA (Interactive Multimedia Web page)
About WordArt:
WordArt is a feature of PowerPoint that allows you to add effects to text within a text box. The sorts of effects you can add to shapes and text boxes are much the same as those you can add to shapes and text boxes (shadow, bevel, etc.). You may also transform the text in WordArt to make it seem wavy, slanted, or inflated.
To apply a WordArt style to text:
A WordArt Style will automatically apply several effects to your text at once. You can then refine the look of your text by adding or modifying text effects.
1. Select a text box, or select some text inside of the text box.
2. In the WordArt Styles group on the Format tab, select the More drop-down arrow.
3. WordArt Styles will show as a drop-down menu. Choose a style that you'd want to apply.
4. The specified style will be used to display the text. You may adjust the font or color of the font from the Home tab if you want to.
To add or modify text effects:
1. Choose a text box or a text box that has some text. The tab "Format" will open up.
2. Click the Text Effects command in the WordArt Styles group on the Format tab.
3. The different effect categories will be shown in a drop-down menu. Select the desired effect from the menu that displays by hovering your cursor over an effect category.
4. The effect will be applied to your text. If you want, you can combine several different effects.
In the WordArt Styles group, you can also use the Text Fill and Text Outline drop-down boxes to modify the fill and outline color.
Working with shapes and text boxes:
PowerPoint's large shape collection allows you to organize and design the image you want. While you may not need shapes in every presentation you create, they can add visual appeal.
To insert a shape:
1. In the Illustrations group, select the Insert tab and then the Shapes command. It will display a drop-down selection of forms.
2. Choose a shape that you like.
3. Click, hold, and drag in the desired location to add the shape to the slide.
4. You may use a shape to insert text if you want to. You may just start typing when the shape appears in your text. After that, you may modify the text's font, font size, and color using the Home tab's formatting choices.
Add 3D Effects:
Bevel and 3-D Rotation are two sorts of effects you may use to give your shapes and text boxes a 3D look.
Bevel gives thickness and a rounded edge to designs, although not all shapes are suitable for it. It may be applied to any form and provides the impression that you're looking at it from a new perspective.
To Add a Bevel:
1. Make a selection of the shape or text box you'd want to change.
2. Select the Shape Effects drop-down arrow from the Format tab. Hover your cursor over Bevel in the menu that opens and pick the desired bevel preset.
3. The shape will appear in the selected bevel effect.
You may change the bevel effect to your liking. From the drop-down menu, choose 3-D Options. On the right side of the PowerPoint window, a pane called "Format Shape" will emerge. You may change the width, height, and depth of a bevel from here. Choose from metal, plastic, or transparent materials for the form, as well as a variety of lighting options to vary how it is lighted.
To Add 3D Rotation:
1. Make a selection for the shape or text box you'd want to change.
2. Click the Shape Effects drop-down arrow on the Format tab. Hover your cursor over 3-D Rotation in the menu that displays and choose the 3D effect you want.
3. The shape will appear in the selected 3D rotation effect.
You may make 3-D Rotation your own if you want to. The Format Shape pane will show on the right side of the PowerPoint window if you choose 3-D Rotation Options from the drop-down menu. You may change the rotation settings from here.
